It's a saying borne of old railway engineers who knew well the importance of paying attention to laying the last mile of track that would connect two entirely separate rail systems.
Such is the state of the real estate industry today, where traditional retail real estate and distressed real estate have long operated in separate worlds. No more. Both sides of the real estate industry are quickly realizing their need for that "last mile" that can connect one to the other. Yet nearly all of the existing networks, trade groups, and industry collectives that exist in retail real estate and REO are ill-equipped to serve this critical industry need.
Our goals as an organization are as bold as they are clear:
- To develop an organization that enables individuals, companies
and vendors that provide unique and focused services to the real estate
industry to join a nationwide entity.
- To unite buyers, sellers
and real estate agents together into one professional organization.
- To
encourage a paradigm shift. Work toward establishing a
professional organization that provides standardized certification
for: agents, brokers, asset managers, maintenance workers, appraisers,
city inspectors, compliance officers, builders, renovators, etc.
- To
work together with all segments of the industry to increase
efficiencies, reduce costs associated with default servicing, banking
and maintenance of distressed properties.
- To embrace
investors, hedge funds, loan servicers, municipalities, prospective and
existing homeowners and homeowner's associations into the organization.
- To
strive to create better environmental quality, locally and
globally, utilizing green programs and materials designed to fit local
market conditions.
- To work with existing industry organizations
to expand business opportunities for real estate professionals.
